In 2010, Michael Gilsinan officially launched the Fort Lee School of Music and has proven to be a leader in his field with the ability to bring together a diverse group of talented professionals. Michael has demonstrated the ability to successfully manage an organization consisting of 200+ students that host numerous annual public events; some of which include concerts, workshops, and a classical guitar orchestra. Emphasizing practical skills in connection with the fundamentals of music; Mr. Gilsinan continues to hone his own approach to music education. His teaching motto is “Where Fun Meets Challenging!”

As a performer, Michael’s signature is the modernization of traditional styles of music, at times, using multinational instruments in combination with the guitar. Several foundations have commissioned new music to be written on Michael’s behalf. Michael has been a featured guitarist-in-concert at:

Michael holds a Master’s Degree and Bachelor’s Degree in Guitar Performance from Mannes College the New School for Music in New York City where he studied in the guitar studio of Michael Newman and Frederic Hand.
