Jazz Improvisation for Classical Musicians

Who:
Open to intermediate to advanced musicians.

Summary: 
Learn different improvisational techniques for any instrument. Includes Private Lessons as well as Group Improvisation and Group Theory workshops. Final concert for all participants at the National Opera Center in New York City.

Lessons:
All lessons are 45 minutes long and will meet at Fort Lee School of Music on Monday 8/06, Wednesday 8/08, and Friday 8/10. Exact time of each lesson is to be determined.

Workshops:
Workshops will include Jazz Theory and Jazz Improvisation classes. All workshops are 60 minutes long and will meet as a group at the Fort Lee School of Music on Tuesday 8/07 and Thursday 8/09 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, and Saturday 8/11 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM.

Concert:
The final concert for all participants will be held at the National Opera Center on Sunday 8/12 at 10:30 AM.
 

 

Faculty:
Before coming to the United States, Philip Weberndörfer was teaching jazz and popular guitar at Nuremberg University of Music from 2013 to 2015. Philip was on the committee for the annual entrance examinations for jazz guitar students. He was also the director for examinations in “Jazz Guitar for Classical Guitarist” and conducted examinations in “Didactics of Jazz Guitar.” (Read More)
