Multidisciplinary designer, Gigi Lau Gilsinan's design training began in Landscape Architecture — but as a professional — she has developed extensive capabilities in architecture, interior design, graphic design, as well as modern painting. Gigi has worked in architectural and landscape architectural design firms in New York City and Hong Kong, including Arcadis (formerly known as Hyder Consulting - ACLA) and Alphonse Diaz Architect.
Gigi is currently working for the Manhattan-based housing developer, West End Residences, in real estate development on affordable housing. She takes charge of the pre-development and construction stage of the projects: from searching for lands, acquisition, closing, construction, and leasing. She has been working in design and construction since 2008. She has experience in architectural design firms, non-profit and for-profit developers, and general contractors.
Gigi has worked with Michael Gilsinan on various projects, including the video production of Three Days in Hong Kong, the interior and logo design of Fort Lee School of Music, and various visual design products crossing over with music.
Gigi’s articles have been published in print media, including Singapore Architect Magazine and local Hong Kong newspapers. She has been invited to speak at “Walkable City, Living Streets” Urban Conference, and “Professionals in Social Movement” Seminar. Gigi holds a Master’s Degree in Landscape Architecture from The University of Hong Kong and a 2nd Master’s Degree in Urban Policy MS, from Milano, The New School in New York City.
